Samantha Zaw and Ishita Singhal join the MESH Lab

Samantha Zaw (she/her) and Ishita Singhal (she/her) are incoming Ph.D. students in the Department of Psychological Science.

Samantha Zaw (she/her)

Sam, a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida. Broadly speaking, Sam’s areas of research interests include self-transcendent emotions, prosociality, self and identity, and close relationships.











Ishita Singhal (she/her)

Ishita completed her BA in Psychology from Ashoka University, India, and an MA in Psychology from the University of Chicago. Ishita's research interests include moral judgements and behaviors (especially related to moral growth and retribution), socioeconomic status, privilege, and meaning in life. She is also passionate about making psychological science less WEIRD (Western Educated Industrialised Rich Democratic) and improving science communication to drive greater societal impact.
